Very catchy, and touching by the end.

Off to a good start, xylophone, piano...good combination. Short stop...(had a chance to watch the video), this really fits the film. It seems rather schizophrenic here, but...this is definitely a good composition. Good work man. :)

btriangle responds:

Thank you man, and i am glad you saw the film too. Like you said, without the film its kind of schizophrenic haha.

Great production.

Mellow intro, I like how it starts out. At 0:25 when the drums kick in, it seems like they're a bit too loud, you might want to tone it down just a bit, otherwise, the guitar is great, lovin' that tone. Oooo, nice piano, definitely compliments the guitar. At 2:45 it really goes into a breakdown, very cool. The crash is a bit loud as well.

The only part that really stuck out were the drums, it's just a matter of preference for sure, but the composition is great. I look forward to hearing more from you, man. Good work. :)

Kayoszx responds:

Thanks :D
and yeah, I think you're right about the drums - I'm probably gonna fix them some time soon.

Great focus.

You certainly described it well, the intro with piano, creates an interesting mood, kinda heroic, kinda uncertain. As it progresses more and more...the instruments become more intense, and it kinda makes me think Mega Man X. You've got a good groove here.

The reason the score is somewhat low, is - to me - there should be a stronger emphasis on percussion. This type of song demands a rockin' beat to back the groove and allows for more people to "feel" the rhythm. Just a thought. I still think this composition is pretty good, look to hear more from ya. :D

ChronoNomad responds:

I hear what you're saying about the percussion. I just decided to go with the less-is-more stance, and I've always felt that it kind of ramps up the dramatic nature of the piece. Percussion is a funny thing; one person will imagine it one way, while someone else will take a completely different approach.

I'm glad that you liked this piece, and I hope you check out some more of my work in the future. Thanks a lot for the review, and I'll never be too disappointed with a "Lucky 7" score!

Very smooth.

Man, when I just saw the title "Space Ambiental Loop" I didn't know what to expect. The name itself just isn't very convincing that you're going to hear something worth listening to, but...this one works, and I really enjoy what I'm hearing. This could totally work for the beginning of a title screen, or select stage screen. Possibly even a character select screen.

The reason I give it a 9, is for two reasons actually.

1) I'd just prefer more composition, I realize that's fairly biased (in fact...it's VERY biased) but...I always feeling like I'm going on a journey when hearing this kind of stuff. The "ambient" genre - to me - is always based on the soundscape and complexity of the textures of the sounds you choose to use. It's all about creating an imaginative environment. That's just me though.

2) Well, the title was kind of a let down. lol, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just saying that if the title were a little more exciting like, "Frontiers" or "Galactic Continuum" (considering it's a loop). :)

But what you've got here is great man, I definitely look forward to hearing more. :)

Man, cool blend of chill, funk, and synthesizers.

Man, definitely a cool padding of sounds, that sax is awesome man. Lovin' the funky bass, and with a nice layer of strings. This kinda makes me think something I'd hear out of an anime show...or an old 60's show. Very cool, heh, I'd like to hear the final product eventually. Feel free to message me whenever it comes out. :D

Cool Stuff. :D

It's definitely a catchy hook when the first instrument you introduce is piano. :D

From there it just progresses into this light and fluffy uplifting tune that kinda just "carries you away"...best way I could describe it. lol

With all of that said, I still say one of the synths is a bit too generic...it's probably just me, and it's probably not very professional to say that, but just giving my opinion in a review, thought I'd just mention it. After listening to the majority of your songs, I personally find this one to be the best one out of the group. You definitely have some talent man, hope that potential grows into something great. Downloaded. :)

Indigorain responds:

Thanks a lot, man! :D
You're right, it's kind of generic, but that's one of the ways to make it sound dancey, and people like it :D Besides, it takes me ages to find a good unique sound, and I really liked how this made an uplifting, yet screaming sound.
Thanks very much for taking you time to listen to my music!! :D
And thanks for the review and download :D

I love this, plain and simple

Seems like a very simple tune, but the composition is great. Very different from what I normally hear on Newgrounds. The piano fits perfectly with the double bass, and the hi-hat seems to just hit at all the right moments. The introduction of the violin around 40 secs in...just great. Good stuff man, this is a favorite for sure. :)

Merancape responds:

Haha, thank you. Something else that's different from what I normally hear on Newgrounds: a constructive review. I appreciate you letting me know what works, just as much as if it were a bad rating with constructive criticism.

Light and Fluffy

The beginning just makes me think...if Pokemon and Spyro had a baby, this would be the music composed for it. This is a tad on the short side, but the instrument choice is nice. The only reason I give it an 8 is because I think it could be EQed a bit better. To me, there's too much on the high end, which you can easily fix, by putting the high pitched synth on the mixer...and attaching Parametric EQ 2 to it. I could go in-depth, but...this is a review, not a tutorial. :)

Cool remix man, gonna listen to more of your stuff.

RainOfTheRelentless responds:

I recommend listening to my last remix, or any that have 'Pokémon' in them.

whoa, massive. \m/

The sounds here, are absolutely brilliant. It's a bit chaotic, but that's nothing a bit of mixing/mastering can't fix. I really would like these both to be fully "fleshed out" ideas, because from what you're showing at the moment...it's pretty awesome. Some of the glitch stutters and edits...make me think BT, but the big background bass makes me think something along the lines of Crystal Method. The 2nd song around 0:55 is more uplifting and has a cool vibe to it. You've got a new listener man. Keep up the good work. :D

Very cool

All the instruments just seem to fit, the one thing is the (cello/violin?) staccato at 0:27 might be a little loud. Sorry if I didn't name the right term, but it's just a bit too intense. This arrangement is great though. Some cool orchestration, some interesting instrument choice going on around 1:10. Definitely diggin' that accordion, good stuff man, look forward to hearing more. :)

I'm a native of the United States, specific enough for ya? Alright, well, my personality? I'm on a never-ending quest to make whatever it is I create...to be...better (interpret that anyway you'd like). :)
